Documentary Description

There’s a theory that mastering any craft requires 10,000 hours of dedicated practice. The 10,000 Hours documentary series brings this concept to life by exploring the journey behind mastery. Set in Charlotte, NC, each episode dives into the stories of local musicians—who they are, why they pursue their artistry, and what it truly takes to excel in their fields.

Our pilot episode, The 10,000 Hours of Low Groves, introduces this concept to the public. Adam Naliwajko, known as Low Groves, is an indie-folk artist from Chicago who found a welcoming music scene after moving to Charlotte. From experimenting with GarageBand in his grandparents' basement, to performing at some of Charlotte’s top venues—including The Underground, Visulite Theater, and The Evening Muse—Low Groves continues his pursuit of mastery. This is the story behind his music. From the city. For the city.
